Had a great opportunity to attend an interesting conference today about a new playbook for scaling Latino owned businesses sponsored by the Aspen Institute. As the discussion about expanding market opportunities and increasing access to financial capital unfolded, a representative from Bank of America, along with JP Morgan, Wells Fargo and Goldman Sachs, talked about their respective efforts, it reminded me of the work Bank of America's community lending program did in Baltimore in the late 90s for brownfield redevelopment projects when few lenders were willing to take the risk. That capital was critical to jump starting cleanups and redevelopment on numerous properties. So glad to see the community work continues.
