To say the world has lost a champion is an understatement. As many have recently articulated so well, Congressman Cummings was a leader, the likes of which rarely grace us. On the environmental front, Congressman Cummings intuitively recognized the public health facets of environmental regulation and acted upon them. To hear Congressman Cummings speak was one of life's great privileges. I most recently heard him speak in 2016 and remember it like it was yesterday. He spoke at EPA and, with passion, knowledge and inspiration, he reminded us of our responsibility to the public and to make sure everyone was equally protected. No one did that better than he did. As we mourn his loss, our thoughts are with his family and friends.
